Weekly not working?

Miss a repeating to-do three times and it moves to a cadence you can keep. Hit the new one three times running and the original comes back.

The mechanism

Three misses. Then it steps in.

Nothing happens on the first two. On the third, the task moves one step to a roomier cadence and tells you it did.

  1. Miss 1

    Every week

Nothing happens. Weeks go like that.

  2. Miss 2

    Every week

Still nothing. It’s not keeping score against you.

  3. Miss 3

    Every 2 weeks

One step roomier, with a notice showing the old cadence and the new one.

  4. 3 on time

    Every week

Three on-time finishes in a row and the original rhythm returns.

The limits

One step at a time, and only for to-dos.

Easing moves a cadence one step, never several, and it stops before a task can drift out of sight altogether.

How each cadence eases
Every few daysDoubles, and turns weekly past six days (every 3 days → every 6 days, every 4 days → every week).
WeeklyDoubles, and turns monthly at four weeks (every week → every 2 weeks, every 2 weeks → monthly).
MonthlyDoubles, capped at six months (monthly → every 2 months, every 3 months → every 6 months).
HabitsNever ease. They have no due date to miss.
DailiesNever ease. They roll into the next day instead.

If you disagree

Undo, and it stays undone.

Every adjustment arrives as a notice with the old cadence and the new one written out, and two choices.

Keep itThe roomier cadence stays.
UndoThe original cadence returns, and that task is protected from another adjustment for 30 days.

It happens per task, never to your whole list at once, and it always says what changed in plain words.

Add your first chore.

It takes a minute. The list starts working after that.
